The Word.Art Salon is an artist-curated live arts series that will convene for the first time at CultureHub in New York on April 24th, 2025. We are currently accepting applications for durational works of 5-20 minutes in length that center language, performance, performed language, and technology as artistic media. Works can take the form of sound, movement, theatrical storytelling, literature, film, code, as well as any hard-to-categorize new modes in between.
Deadline: February 28th, 2025

The first in a series of salon-style live performance evenings will be co-curated by Kat Mustatea and Itziar Barrio. Selected artists receive an honorarium, simple tech support on the day of the show, and video documentation.
Apply by February 28th, 2025 to be considered for a slot. Please use the form above to begin a conversation about a work you’d like to present—we will be in touch in March to discuss details and feasibility. Successful proposals will be projects that rely on both liveness and new media to convey meaning, and can be performed/installed within CultureHub’s exisiting technical infrastructure.
